Chelsea took over after the break scoring three goals, as Cole Palmer restored parity from the penalty spot on the hour mark before Enzo Fernandez scored to put Chelsea in front for the first time in the game.
Palmer converted another penalty to give the Blues a two goal advantage.
Son Heung-Min scored the third in a late comeback fight, but Chelsea held on to take all three points.
