NDDC Donates Medical Equipment to Orogbum Health Centre in Port Harcourt

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has donated medical equipment to the Model Primary Health Care Centre in Orogbum Community, Port Harcourt Local Government Area, to improve healthcare services in the area.

NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, said the donation is part of the Commission’s efforts to improve healthcare facilities and services across the Niger Delta.

He explained that NDDC is committed to providing quality healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that people in the region have access to essential medical services. Dr. Ogbuku was represented at the event by the Director of Education, Health and Social Services, Dr. Patience Ezugu.

The donated items include glucometers, examination couches, surgical instruments, and other medical diagnostic equipment.

The Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr. Chituru Adele, received the equipment and described the donation as a major support that will help the health centre provide better healthcare services.

Also speaking, the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Tonye Lawson-Jack, said the equipment would improve diagnosis and treatment of patients. He encouraged the health centre management to take good care of the equipment.

He added that proper maintenance would ensure the equipment remains useful for a long time and help improve healthcare delivery in the community.

The Head of the Primary Health Centre, Dr. Nwabueze Blessing, thanked NDDC for the donation, saying it would benefit both healthcare workers and patients.

Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Mr. Bright Ogbonda, also praised Dr. Ogbuku for his leadership and contributions to the development of the region.

Dr. Ogbuku stressed that well-equipped and functional healthcare facilities are important for the sustainable development of the Niger Delta.
