Abia CP Strengthens Partnership with DSS on Intelligence Sharing, Election Security
The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, psc+, mnips, JP, has intensified collaboration with other security agencies in the state as part of efforts to strengthen intelligence sharing, professionalism and public safety.
CP Afolabi made this known on Monday, August 31, 2026, when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Director of Security, Abia State, Mr. Kingsley I.K. Anuforo, fsi, as part of his ongoing working visits to critical security stakeholders across the state.
The visit, according to the Police Command, was aimed at deepening inter-agency cooperation, particularly in the areas of intelligence gathering and sharing, threat analysis and coordinated security operations.
During the meeting, the CP and the State Director of Security also discussed the Command’s forthcoming capacity-building programmes, which will focus on intelligence gathering, emotional intelligence and threat analysis.
The discussions further covered the ongoing Community Safety Partnership Initiative being implemented across Abia State, as well as the need for enhanced joint security analysis and strategic cooperation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The initiative is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on strengthening professionalism, public trust and effective collaboration among security agencies.
Responding, the State Director of Security, Mr. Anuforo, and his team welcomed the Commissioner and assured him of their support, cooperation and continued partnership with the Police Command in achieving shared security objectives.
The meeting underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration, intelligence-led policing and proactive security measures in maintaining peace and safeguarding residents across Abia State.
