The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, on Saturday joined women of Itumbauzor in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State to mark their 2026 August Meeting.
Despite his busy schedule, Anyaso attended the gathering, where he interacted with the women and celebrated with them.
His participation was described as a demonstration of his commitment to maintaining direct engagement with communities and identifying with the people, particularly women whose contributions are considered vital to family and community development.
Addressing the gathering, Anyaso commended the women for their unity, resilience and dedication to the progress of Itumbauzor.
He noted that women remained central to building strong families and advancing the socio-economic development of communities.
The Labour Party candidate also reiterated his commitment to supporting programmes and initiatives focused on women’s welfare, empowerment and sustainable development across Bende Federal Constituency.
The event attracted the Mayor of Bende Local Government Area, Hon. Deacon Uwabunkonye Bassey, as well as other political, traditional and community leaders who joined the women in celebrating the annual occasion.
