The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, attended a reception marking the 78th Independence Anniversary of the State of Israel. The event took place at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre in Abuja and brought together government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and other distinguished guests.
Mrs. Otti attended the celebration at the invitation of the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Michael Freeman, and his wife, Mrs. Sigalit Freeman. Her presence at the event highlighted Abia State’s interest in building stronger relationships with international partners for growth and development.
Speaking during the event, Mrs. Otti described the invitation as a recognition of Abia State’s growing engagement with global partners. She noted that such relationships create opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of ideas that can benefit the people of the state.
She congratulated the people and government of Israel on their 78th Independence Anniversary and wished the nation continued peace, progress, and prosperity. Mrs. Otti also expressed confidence that the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and Israel would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
According to her, Abia State is ready to take advantage of opportunities that come from international partnerships, especially in key sectors such as agriculture, technology, education, healthcare, and women empowerment. She said these areas are important to the state’s development agenda and the improvement of citizens’ lives.
In his remarks, Ambassador Freeman reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Nigeria. He stated that Israel remains interested in practical partnerships and investments that will improve livelihoods, promote innovation, and create more opportunities for people in both countries.
The reception also provided an opportunity for guests to discuss areas of mutual interest and explore ways of deepening cooperation between Nigeria and Israel for sustainable development and economic growth.
