Methodist Church Honours Anyaso as ‘Friend of Alayi Circuit’

The Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Uzuakoli, Alayi Circuit, has honoured businessman, philanthropist and humanitarian, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (OFUJI), with the distinguished title of “Friend of Alayi Circuit.”

The recognition was conferred on Anyaso during the circuit’s Sunday worship service on August 16, 2026, at its headquarters in Alayi, in the presence of clergy, circuit officials, lay leaders and members of the congregation.

According to the church, the honour was in recognition of Anyaso’s selfless service and contributions to the advancement of the Gospel and the Methodist Church within Alayi and across Bende Local Government Area.

Church leaders also acknowledged his support for church projects, community development initiatives and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable members of society.

Presenting the award, the circuit leadership said Anyaso had consistently demonstrated commitment to supporting the work of the church and improving the lives of people in his community.

Responding, Anyaso expressed gratitude to the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Uzuakoli and the Alayi Circuit for the recognition, describing it as both humbling and a call to greater service.

He said his commitment to humanitarian activities was rooted in his Christian faith and his belief that leadership and service should produce tangible benefits for the people.

Anyaso further commended the Methodist Church for its contributions to moral formation, education, spiritual development and community welfare, pledging to continue supporting initiatives that promote the Gospel and improve the lives of youths and vulnerable persons.

The honour adds to a growing list of recognitions associated with Anyaso’s community-oriented activities, including support for education, healthcare outreaches, empowerment programmes and faith-based initiatives across Bende Federal Constituency.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for Anyaso and his family, as well as for continued peace and development in Alayi, Bende and Abia State.
