Governor Dr. Alex Otti has commended the Muslim community in Abia State for endorsing him for a second term in office.
The Governor made the commendation when members of the Muslim community, led by the Chief Imam, Sheikh Ali Ukaiwo, paid him a Sallah visit. He reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting peace, security, and inclusive development across the state.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, Governor Otti thanked the Chief Imam and the Muslim faithful for the visit and extended his heartfelt felicitations to the community on the occasion of the recent Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He emphasized the importance of unity among residents, noting that regardless of religious or ethnic differences, all citizens belong to one community and share a common destiny in the state.
The Governor stated that his administration remains committed to ensuring peaceful coexistence among all groups. He also expressed appreciation to the Muslim community for their support during the 2023 general elections and further commended them for once again endorsing him for the 2027 governorship election, describing the gesture as a vote of confidence in the administration’s performance and vision for the state.
Governor Otti assured the delegation that the government would continue to pursue policies that foster peace, security, and prosperity for all residents of the state.
Speaking earlier, the Chief Imam and leader of the delegation, Sheikh Ali Ukaiwo, said their visit was to formally endorse Governor Dr. Alex Otti for a second term in office and to express appreciation for the achievements of his administration.
Ukaiwo recalled the overwhelming support the Muslim community gave Dr. Otti during the last general election in pursuit of a new and prosperous Abia State.
He reaffirmed the community’s unwavering support for the Governor and his administration, pledging their continued commitment to sustaining good governance and developmental strides in the state beyond the current tenure.
