President Tinubu Commissions Three Newly Rehabilitated Roads In Abia

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has commissioned Queens Street, Jubilee, and Omoba Roads, rehabilitated by the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

The event, which is President Tinubu’s first commissioning of a road constructed by the current set of Governors in Nigeria, marks the 9th road being commissioned in Aba since Dr. Alex Otti, OFR took over the reins of power in the State eight months ago.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President, represented by the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, emphasized that quality leadership is essential for the development and transformation of any society, adding that the people of Abia are witnessing democracy dividends under the present administration of Governor Alex Otti.

“Within the last nine months, the people of Abia state have witnessed a change in their fortunes. Abia is working, Tinubu is working, and tomorrow is here,” Shettima affirmed.

The Vice President, who noted that the accomplishments of Governor Otti have brought to bear a wealth of experience, intellect, and exposure to the development of Abia, expressed optimism that many great things would come to the people of the state.

In his remarks earlier, Governor Alex Otti said the rehabilitation of the roads aimed at giving the people unhindered access to all parts of the state aligns with his administration’s promise to develop all parts of the state in line with his rebuilding agenda.

Governor Otti, who revealed that the roads are strategic to the development of the state, said the Omoba road leads to the two major Local government areas of Aba South and Obingwa, while the Queens street rehabilitated in about six months of his administration leads to the General Hospital and other strategic businesses in Aba.

The Governor, while noting that the roads were built to quality standards according to specifications with street lights, drainages, and stormwater challenged to the Aba river, assured that the roads would stand the test of time.

He thanked the Presidency and the people of the state for the support given to him since the assumption of office as Governor of the state, as well as the contractor for working tirelessly to deliver the roads on time.

The event was witnessed by Senators, members of the House of Representatives, Minister of Power, Deputy Governor of the state, and Members of the state Assembly.
