NULGE Abia Names Chima Anyaso 2026 NULGE Week Chairman, Ambassador

Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Abia State Council, has named the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, as Chairman of the Occasion and NULGE Ambassador for its 2026 NULGE Week celebration scheduled for November.

The decision was conveyed during a courtesy visit to Dr. Anyaso by the leadership of NULGE Abia State, led by its President, Lady Comrade Linda Ihuoma Unaeze, on Tuesday at Igbere in Bende Local Government Area.

In a formal invitation letter dated August 16, 2026, the union said the honour was in recognition of Dr. Anyaso’s leadership qualities, track record and commitment to the welfare of the people.

The letter, jointly signed by Lady Unaeze and the State Secretary, Comrade Okoro Andrew, stated that the union had followed Anyaso’s aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives with keen interest.

NULGE expressed confidence that his presence and guidance as Chairman of the Occasion would add value and prestige to the celebration.

The union said the 2026 NULGE Week is aimed at promoting the welfare of local government workers, strengthening unity among members and encouraging community service.

Activities lined up for the celebration include a massive rally in support of the re-election of Governor Alex Otti, a football tournament involving local government workers, visits to critically ill and bedridden workers, as well as the grand finale scheduled for November 25, 2026, at the Ubakala Central School Mini-Stadium, Umuahia.

According to NULGE, Anyaso’s acceptance of the role would serve as an inspiration to its members across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state and further highlight his commitment to workers’ welfare.

Responding, Dr. Anyaso thanked the leadership and members of NULGE for the honour and appreciated their continued support for the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

He called on local government workers and other residents of the state to continue supporting the Labour Party, which, according to him, remains committed to the welfare and progress of Abia workers.

On his 2027 aspiration, Anyaso expressed confidence that the overwhelming support of the people of Bende would propel him to victory in the election.
