The people of Ibinaukwu Community in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, have declared their support for the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, and Governor Alex Otti ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Thursday during the community’s Iriji celebration, which was attended by Dr. Anyaso, a son of the community.
Speaking on behalf of the people, the Community Chairman, Mr. Egemba Onuoha, said Ibinaukwu had collectively resolved to support Anyaso’s aspiration, irrespective of individual political affiliations.
He said the decision was informed by the candidate’s humility, accessibility and longstanding relationship with the people.
“Whether you are in APC, Labour Party, PDP or any other political party, when it comes to the House of Representatives election, no single vote will go against our son, Chima Anyaso,” Onuoha declared.
Also speaking, the Woman Leader, Mrs. Mary Madubuike, said the women of the community had equally resolved to support Anyaso and the Labour Party in the 2027 elections.
She added that the community would also support Governor Otti’s re-election bid, describing his administration’s performance and development efforts across Abia as deserving of continuity.
“For your sake, every single vote is for Governor Alex Otti to continue the good work he has been doing. This time, there is nothing like party,” she said.
Other community leaders, including Chief Nwokocha Lekwauwa, Chief Sunday Okorie and the Youth Leader, Mr. Nnorom Ojukwu, also pledged their support for Anyaso, assuring him of their votes.
Responding, an emotional Dr. Anyaso expressed gratitude to the people of Ibinaukwu for the overwhelming reception and confidence reposed in him.
He assured them that, if elected to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, he would not betray their trust but would remain committed to providing effective and people-oriented representation.
