Umunneochi Mayor Meets With AFAN, Pledges To Boost Agriculture, Food Security

Afurobi Hosts Delegation of Isuochi Council of Ichies, Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Leadership

The Mayor of Umunneochi, Chief Sunny Afurobi, hosted a delegation of three esteemed members from the Isuochi Council of Ichies, a council working directly with the revered Ochi 1 of Isuochi.

The delegation, led by the council’s chairman, Ichie Ike Nelson of Umuada Ngodo, alongside secretary Ichie Anyabu Okpara (Boggy) of Amuda and Ichie S.B.C. Okorocha (Eze-elect) from Mbala, visited the mayor to express their support and appreciation for his leadership.

The Ichies commended the mayor for the steady and uninterrupted power supply currently enjoyed in Umunneochi and acknowledged the ongoing rehabilitation of dilapidated roads. They offered prayers and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in office.

In his response, the mayor expressed gratitude for their visit and described his efforts as a commitment to improving Umunneochi. He pledged to continue utilizing every available resource to give the LGA a new look, emphasizing the importance of prudent management of funds.

Addressing electricity management, the mayor urged the Ichies to collaborate with their town union president-generals and traditional rulers to devise effective systems for paying electricity bills, noting that this would ensure the sustainability of the current power supply.

The mayor also acknowledged the Ichies as paternal figures in the community and pledged to maintain close consultation with his predecessors to understand and fulfill the responsibilities of caring for the Ichies.
