NIPR, NUJ Reaffirm Partnership at Abia Congress

Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Abia State Chapter, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

This, followed the presentation of a formal communication on the renewed partnership between both professional bodies.

The Chairman, NIPR Abia State Chapter, Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu, fnipr, disclosed this yesterday during a brief visit to the Congress of the NUJ Abia State Council, where she delivered an official message from the NIPR National Secretariat on the renewed relationship between the two institutions.

Addressing members of the Congress, Ralph-Nwachukwu expressed appreciation to the Chairman of the NUJ Abia State Council, Comrade Chidi Asonye, as well as past leaders, members of the Executive Council, and journalists present for the warm reception accorded her.

She described the renewed partnership as a strategic alliance founded on professionalism, ethical communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving the public interest.

According to her, public relations practitioners and journalists play complementary roles within the information ecosystem and must continue to work together to promote truth, strengthen public confidence, combat misinformation, and contribute to national development.

The NIPR Chairman also commended members of the Abia State Chapter of the Institute who are equally members of the NUJ, noting that their dual affiliation reflects the strong synergy that exists between both professions.

She further appreciated the Secretary of the NUJ Abia State Council, Ikechukwu Onuegbu, mnipr, for his professionalism and support in facilitating the engagement.

Responding, the Chairman of the NUJ Abia State Council, Comrade Chidi Asonye, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the Council’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the NIPR in Abia State.

The meeting ended with both organisations expressing their commitment to sustaining a productive partnership aimed at promoting ethical communication, responsible journalism, and societal development.
