Catholic Knights remind of challenges of knighthood

Abia state deputy governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, has reminded newly elevated and initiated members of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th degree of Knight of St. Mulumba of so much expectations and responsibilities attached to their new status as role models.
Speaking at St Theresa Catholic Church, Olokoro, Umuahia South Local Government Area,Abia State, during the initiation and outing ceremony of the members of the Knight of St Mulumba, Sir Oko Chukwu said that every promotion in life comes with responsibilities and challenges which they must live up to its billing as soldiers of Christ.

He urged them to use their current position to impact positively on the church and the society by being good ambassadors of the Church by their exemplary Christian lives.

The deputy governor deplored the spate of social atrocities plaguing the society like violent armed robbery, kidnapping, suicide, among others and urged them to join hands with the state government and other stakeholders in tackling the problems,so as to create an enabling and peaceful environment.

He reassured of state government’s commitment to secure lives and property of the residents and appealed to the church not to relent in their prayers for the state government to achieve her well designed objectives.

In his homily, the priest in charge of St Theresa’s Catholic church, Umuahia, Rev Father, Cyril Amaghionyeodiwe, said that the promise of Christ ushers peace and urged them to use their positions to demonstrate God’s love.

The Reverend father asked all to allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in them and obey God’s word.

In his own speech, the Principal Secretary to the governor and one of the elevated Knights, Sir Emma Nwabuko, promised that they would be strong defenders of Christ and live exemplary lives that uphold those values the Catholic church cherished and thanked God for what He has done in his life.
