EMETU URGES FATHERS TO REMAIN RESPONSIBLE, SUPPORT GOVERNMENT AT FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, has charged fathers to continue playing their critical roles as leaders and pillars of their families while remaining committed to the growth and development of society.

Engr. Emetu gave the charge during the Father’s Day Celebration organized by Omega Fire Ministries International Incorporated, Eagles’ Arena, Umuahia, with the theme, “Watchmen in the Gap,” drawn from Ezekiel 22:30.
The Deputy Governor congratulated fathers on the occasion and acknowledged the sacrifices they make in providing for their families despite prevailing economic challenges.

He commended women for their support and understanding, noting that fathers bear enormous responsibilities in ensuring the well-being of their households.

Emetu thanked the church and the people of Abia State for their continued support for the administration of Governor Alex Otti, assuring them that the government remains committed to delivering more dividends of democracy to the people.
He disclosed that the Governor closely monitors public feedback and appreciates the support and constructive comments of residents, adding that greater developments await the state.

The Deputy Governor also used the opportunity to encourage eligible residents to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of future elections.
According to him, good governance is achievable when leaders are committed to serving the people, stressing that the transformation being witnessed in Abia State is a product of purposeful leadership and dedication to public service.
He further expressed optimism that more blessings and development projects would come to the state, describing Abia as God’s own state.

Earlier in his sermon, the Resident Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Eagles’ Arena, Umuahia, Pastor Ossai Freddy Azuka, urged men to be faithful watchmen in their homes, communities and places of worship. He charged fathers to remain steadfast in prayer, lead by example and uphold godly values in their families.

In his remarks, the President of Omega Fire Ministries Men Fellowship, Umuahia 1, Hon. Nwaobasi V. Chidoezi, expressed joy over the celebration and called on fathers to place God first in all they do.
He urged men to remain prayerful and steadfast irrespective of prevailing challenges, emphasizing that fathers must continually stand in the gap for their families and society in line with the theme of the event.
The highpoint of the celebration was the decoration of the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, with the award of MOPHURAR by the church’s Men Fellowship.
