SECLOGs Urged to Be Proactive in Supporting State’s Rebuilding Agenda

Secretaries of the local government councils in Abia State, SECLOGs have been charged to work hand in glove with the rebuilding agenda of the present administration to ensure the total transformation of the State is realized.

The Abia State Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, gave the charge when the Secretaries to the Local Government (SECLOGs) came to his office on a familiarization visit, and stressed the need for them to see their appointment as an opportunity to contribute to the vision of rebuilding the State for the good of all.SECLOGs, Abia State, Rebuilding Agenda

 

Prof. Kalu, who identified local government as a critical vehicle in driving development to the grassroots, encouraged the Secretaries to work with unity of purpose to enable them achieve their set goals.

The SSG, who said that he is aware that there may be some challenges facing the forum, encouraged them to always stay afloat even in the face of the challenges while assuring them of his intention to create a liaison office for SECLOGs, which is to be domiciled in the office of the Secretary to the State Government.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman, Abia SECLOGs’ Forum, Hon. Iroabuchi James Chikezie, who said that the essence of their visit was to identify with the SSG, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, revealed that the SECLOGs’ Forum, which cuts across the 17 Local Government Councils, was inaugurated in January this year for the purpose of enabling them to do the needful in actualizing the vision and mandate of the government in their council.

Hon. Iroabuchi, who expressed their desire to contribute their quota in line with the vision of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti in transforming Abia State, assured of their unalloyed support.
