Otti Commends Unity Among Ohafia, Abiriba, Nkporo Youths
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has commended the people of Ohafia Local Government Area for demonstrating unity among the Ohafia, Abiriba and Nkporo clans.
Otti gave the commendation when he received youths from Ohafia Local Government Area, comprising the three clans, who paid a solidarity visit to him at the Government House, Umuahia.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, expressed appreciation to the youths for coming together as one to appreciate his administration and demonstrate unity among the three clans.
Otti said the unity displayed by the youths was important to the development of Ohafia Local Government Area, urging them to sustain the spirit of togetherness and continue to speak with one voice.
The Governor also urged the youth leaders to support Labour Party candidates in the forthcoming elections, including the party’s candidate for Ohafia North State Constituency and its candidate for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
He further disclosed that the Labour Party had given its Abia North Senatorial ticket to Dr. David Ogba Onuoha, popularly known as Bourdex, whom he described as a son of Ohafia/Abiriba.
Otti recalled Bourdex’s tenure as Mayor of Ohafia Local Government Area, saying his performance during the period contributed to the decision to support his senatorial ambition.
Speaking on behalf of the three clans, the youth leaders, including Mr. Ogba Kalu of Abiriba, Elder Agwu Iwele Otuwo of Nkporo and Mr. Ume Kalu Nwachineme of Ohafia, appreciated Governor Otti and his administration for what they described as the good works being carried out in the state.
The youths called for continued unity among the three clans and presented a letter expressing their political position ahead of the 2027 elections, declaring their support for Labour Party candidates.
The solidarity visit featured placards and banners bearing the message, “Onye emetu ibeya emetu,” which emphasised unity, mutual progress and peaceful coexistence among the people.
