The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has engaged prominent African leaders, Nigerian First Ladies and media personalities on the sidelines of activities marking the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) in New York.
Among those he met was former President of Mauritius, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, who served as the country’s president from 2015 to 2018.
Anyaso also held engagements with the First Ladies of Abia, Ebonyi and Katsina states — Mrs. Priscilla Otti, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru and Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda — as well as Nigerian media entrepreneur, Mr. Anthony Dara, founder of News Central Media.
The engagements formed part of Anyaso’s activities in New York during the UNGA high-level week, which runs from September 22 to 28 under the theme, “Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers for all.”
The meetings provided opportunities for discussions and interactions around governance, development, media, investment, international cooperation and Africa’s sustainable development.

Anyaso is also participating in a Global Reputation Forum UNGA 2026 side event themed “Beyond Borders, Building Prosperity That Lasts: The Sustainable Development Agenda,” as part of his wider engagements in New York.
