POWA Visits Abia CP, Pledges Support for Police Families.
The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Abia State Command, led by its Chairperson, Mrs. Abigail Afolabi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, at the Command Headquarters, Umuahia.
The visit, which took place on Monday, September 28, 2026, was aimed at strengthening the relationship between POWA and the Abia State Police Command and promoting the welfare of police officers and their families.
During the visit, Mrs. Abigail Afolabi appreciated the Commissioner of Police for his leadership and support to officers and their families.
She reaffirmed POWA’s commitment to programmes focused on family welfare, education, emotional intelligence, health and community development.
Responding, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi appreciated the association for the visit and commended its members for their continuous efforts and unwavering support to serving police officers.
The Commissioner emphasized the critical role of officers’ wives in supporting their husbands on the home front, urging them to ensure the proper care and upbringing of their children.
CP Afolabi further assured the association of the Command’s full support toward the successful implementation of the mandate and objectives of the new POWA executive.
