Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Anyaso, has urged Nigerians to renew their hope in the country and strengthen their commitment to unity and national development as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Anyaso, in an Independence Day message, said the country’s progress would depend not only on government policies but also on the collective efforts, integrity and productivity of its citizens.
He described Nigeria as a nation endowed with abundant human and natural resources, noting that the resilience, creativity and determination of Nigerians remained among the country’s greatest assets despite its challenges.
According to him, the anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens and leaders to reflect on Nigeria’s journey, acknowledge areas requiring greater attention and recommit themselves to building a country where citizens can access opportunities and live with dignity.
He identified quality education, accessible healthcare, youth empowerment, economic opportunities, security, infrastructure and accountable leadership as essential to achieving sustainable national development.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us. Our challenges may be significant, but our capacity to overcome them is even greater. We must continue to build a country where hard work is rewarded, talent is given opportunity and every citizen can look into the future with confidence,” he said.
The Bende Federal Constituency candidate also called for greater national unity, urging Nigerians to look beyond ethnic, religious and political differences and focus on the shared aspirations that bind the country together.
He said meaningful development must begin at the grassroots, stressing that effective representation should ultimately translate into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.
Anyaso reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives focused on education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, youth development and community advancement in Bende Federal Constituency.
He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, urging citizens, particularly young people, to remain committed to contributing positively to their communities and the nation at large.
“As we celebrate 66 years of independence, let us remember that the Nigeria we desire will not be built by government alone. It will be built by all of us, through our choices, our integrity, our hard work and our commitment to one another,” he said.
He wished Nigerians at home and in the diaspora a peaceful and meaningful Independence Day celebration.
