HOS Charges Permanent Secretaries on Effective Leadership, Accountability

The Head of Service, Benson Ojeikere, has charged Permanent Secretaries in the state to demonstrate effective leadership capable of repositioning the Public Service for greater productivity, professionalism, and respectability.

Ojeikere gave the charge during a meeting with the Body of Permanent Secretaries, where critical issues affecting the Public Service were deliberated upon.

The meeting focused on strengthening discipline, accountability, efficiency, and adherence to established Public Service structures.

The Head of Service called for the elimination of negligence, indifference, and lackadaisical attitudes among public servants, urging workers to remain committed to restoring the dignity of the Service.

As part of measures aimed at improving accountability, Ojeikere announced the introduction of a Daily Task Report for public servants on Grade Levels 01 to 17.

According to him, workers are expected to document and submit their daily official activities to enhance accountability and distinguish diligent officers from those who contribute little or nothing while still earning salaries.
