Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured civil servants and residents of the state that the ongoing renovation of the Rivers State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt will be completed and handed over in the first quarter of 2027.
Governor Fubara gave the assurance on Monday during an inspection tour of the project site.
The governor explained that although the exterior of the complex had already reflected significant transformation, he visited the site to personally assess the level and quality of work being carried out within the facility.
Expressing satisfaction with the pace and standard of the renovation, Fubara said the project was progressing steadily in line with the administration’s expectations.
“We just toured the renovation of the State Secretariat. I have been seeing the outer part wearing a new look, but I wanted to confirm the level of work going on inside, and that was why I came to inspect it myself,” he said.
“With the progress of work here, by the grace of God, I believe that by the first quarter of next year it will be handed over to the government.”
The governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects across the state, stressing that no project initiated by his government would be abandoned.
“Like I promised, every job that we are handling, we will ensure that we complete them,” Fubara added.
