The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has held the maiden meeting with members of his campaign council as preparations gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Monday, August 17, 2026, provided an opportunity for members of the yet-to-be-inaugurated campaign council to familiarise themselves with their responsibilities and discuss strategies for an organised, issue-based and grassroots-oriented campaign.

Addressing the team, Anyaso expressed appreciation to members for accepting to participate in the political project, saying he was confident of victory at the polls.
He described his political ambition as a project driven by a strong sense of purpose, expressing confidence that the will of God would ultimately prevail.

According to him, his ambition goes beyond winning an election, as he seeks to contribute meaningfully to the development of Bende Federal Constituency and reshape young people’s perception of politics.
“I am more interested in fixing Bende so that our young people don’t see politics as a means of livelihood, but they should understand that this is service,” he said.
Anyaso also linked his growing acceptance across Abia State to his grassroots engagements, noting that he had visited all 184 wards in the state.

He said the experience would make it easier for his team to reach the 13 wards that make up Bende Federal Constituency.
“My popularity was as a result of the fact that I have toured the entire 184 wards in Abia. If we can do 184 wards in Abia, 13 wards is not going to be difficult,” he stated.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Pastor Dike Okechukwu, charged members to remain committed, transparent and dedicated to the success of the political project.
Okechukwu urged members to work as a united team and maintain confidence in the vision of the campaign, stressing that integrity and commitment would be crucial as activities intensify.
Also speaking, Chief Nkem Kalu, Chief Mrs. Stella Okorie, Mr. Fidelis Ochiobi and Chief Ihendu Eke thanked Anyaso for considering them worthy of serving on the campaign team.
They pledged their support and commitment to the campaign, describing the project as an opportunity to usher in a new chapter for Bende.
A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of vehicles to key campaign directors to support their operations.
At the end of the meeting, Anyaso presented vehicles to the Director of Media and Publicity, Hon. Promise Uzoma Okoro, and the Director of Women Mobilisation, Chief Mrs. Stella Okorie.
He explained that the gesture was aimed at equipping the directors with the necessary mobility to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
The Labour Party candidate urged the beneficiaries to utilise the resources judiciously and deploy them towards advancing the objectives of the campaign.
The meeting marked an early step in the mobilisation and organisational efforts of the campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
