The Forward Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Independent Campaign Group (ICG) has launched its nationwide mobilisation campaign in Abuja, culminating in the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The event, tagged Endorsement Day, attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, academics, professionals, women and youth leaders, grassroots mobilisers, and members of the organisation’s National Executive Council from across the country.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the group, Dr. Sadiq Yusuf, described the gathering as the beginning of a coordinated nationwide campaign to consolidate support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the Independent Campaign Group was established to unite professionals, politicians, community leaders, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers who share a common vision of promoting national development through support for the Tinubu administration.

Dr. Yusuf urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, stressing that electoral victories are built from the polling-unit level. He added that the organisation would establish functional structures across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones to strengthen its nationwide campaign.
A major highlight of the programme was the presentation of members of the National Executive Council and other national officers, including deputy directors-general, zonal coordinators, state coordinators, directors, women leaders and international affairs officials.
During the event, Dr. Yusuf introduced the National Deputy Director-General of the organisation, Dr. (Barr.) Hadiza Kabir, describing her appointment as a significant asset. He commended her academic achievements, leadership qualities and public service experience, expressing confidence in her ability to strengthen the group’s national outreach.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Director of International Liaison of the organisation, High Chief Wisdom Chukwuma Okoye (Ozo Amamaife Chukwu I of Isuokoma Kingdom), called on Nigerians to place national unity above religious and ethnic differences.
According to him, the country’s progress depends on peaceful coexistence among citizens, irrespective of their faith or ethnicity, while leadership should be judged by competence, integrity and commitment to national development.
“Our strength as a nation lies in our diversity, not in our differences,” he said.
High Chief Okoye urged Christians and Muslims to build bridges of understanding rather than allow religious differences to undermine national unity.
“Nigeria is the only country we have. Let us live as brothers and sisters, respecting one another’s faith and working together for the peace, unity and progress of our beloved nation,” he stated.
He also expressed optimism that Nigerians would increasingly assess political leaders based on their character, competence and commitment to national development rather than religious identity.
Other speakers encouraged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation across their states, local government areas and wards ahead of the 2027 general election.
Several participants commended the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, infrastructure development, education initiatives and security interventions, while acknowledging that some government policies have required patience and sacrifice from Nigerians. They expressed confidence that the reforms would yield long-term national benefits.
Women leaders called for greater inclusion of women in governance and urged increased participation of women in politics, leadership and community development.
Traditional rulers, on their part, appealed for peace, unity and collective responsibility as essential ingredients for sustainable national development.
High Chief Okoye also outlined plans to strengthen collaboration with Nigerians in the diaspora as part of the group’s international engagement strategy.
The organisation announced that, following the Abuja launch, similar mobilisation programmes would be held across the South-South, South-East, South-West, North-Central, North-East and North-West geopolitical zones.
The event featured the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, the formal introduction of members of the National Executive Council, a vote of thanks and a group photograph.
The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful political participation, civic engagement and nationwide grassroots mobilisation as preparations for the 2027 general election continue.
