Nigeria’s Woes Can Be Overcome Through Positive Teachings, Preaching – Okoriko

A tele-evangelist, Apostle John Okoriko, has expressed confidence that with positive teachings and preaching from fellow clerics, Nigeria could experience a total turnaround from its current economic and security challenges.

Okoriko, the founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, stated this during the May edition of his monthly interactive session themed “What You Say, You Become (Part 11)”.

Emphasizing the importance and power of thoughts and spoken words since creation, the cleric regretted that many families and churches still dwell on negative and pessimistic words, which, according to him, have hindered their progress.

Citing John 1:1, Okoriko told Christians that one of the most important aspects of life is speaking positively, adding that what people say about themselves, their environment, businesses, careers, or families can either make or mar them. He urged Nigerians to see and speak good things about the country.

According to him, “There is enormous atomic power in the words we speak, whether positive or negative. Over time, they can transform our lives.

“A whole nation of Israel talked itself into poverty. Let us not follow that path. I tell you that positive teachings and preaching can change things in Nigeria.

“The reason many churches and families in Nigeria are poor and wretched is because of the influence of negative messaging disguised as preaching, which dwells on impossibilities rather than hope.”

He added that although Nigeria’s current economic situation has caused many to lose hope, the country can still be transformed if citizens come together and speak positively about themselves.

“No matter how broken we may seem as a nation, if we unite and speak positively about ourselves, we can change our political, economic, and social realities,” he said.

Speaking further, Okoriko said man has the capacity to innovate ideas that can positively impact his life, referencing the biblical woman with the issue of blood who believed that touching Jesus’ garment would make her whole. He encouraged Christians to continuously develop and act on positive ideas that can transform their lives.
