Jubilation As Asa-Eme-Ohazu Autonomous Community Coronates New Monarch

 

The People of Asa- Eme-Ohazu Autonomous community in Aba South Local Government Area, could not withhold their joy,as Eze Onyebuchi Gad was coronated as the “Eze Oha II”of Asa-Eme-Ohazu, after the demise of their foremost traditional ruler.

The Coronation and thanksgiving service which took place at the Asa-Eme community school field, attracted the presence of Asa-Eme-Ohazu sons and daughters, traditional rulers and government functionaries.

Speaking at the event, the newly coronated traditional ruler, HRH Eze Chima Onyebuchi Gad, promised to promote and sustain the peace existing in the community.

The traditional ruler said his installation would open new vista for the community,as he would attract developmental projects and bring government presence to the community.

Narrating how he emerged, Eze Gad revealed that he was picked by God to lead the community,as he never lobbied to become the Eze of the community, promising never to disappoint his people interms of developmental projects, having built the Asa-Eme-Ohazu civic hall, provided a 500KVA transformer to the community through the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District,Sen Enyinnaya Abaribe, revived the cultural and tradition of the community, alongside their cultural heritage,as well as promoted the peace and maintained the charter of equity between the indigenes.The new monarch also inaugurated the community vigilante group as gazetted by the government.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler was legitimately born as a second son to late Mr & Mrs Uzoigwe Eme on the 24th of December,1971.

Eze Gad had his education pursuit ended at the primary education,as a result of the death of his parents that threw his family into helplessness.

The monarch in his quest for survival gained entrance into fashioning and designing, which he successfully acquired all the needed experience.He also went further to expand his coast by entering into contracts/supplies/general merchandise on civil works/materials.

Earlier, the chairman on the occasion, the commissioner for Science and Technology,Hon Okezie Erondu in his speech, described the monarch as king David who was anointed a king by God and urged him to go the way of king David in the Bible.

Hon Erondu reaffirmed his relationship with the community which he said started since 2004 with the late traditional ruler.He said he had attracted various community projects to Asa-Eme, from the building of a health centre, construction of industrial borehole and acquisition of a generating set for the community, assuring that the cordiality would continue.

In an Interview the President General of the community, High Chief Iwejuo Gad, disclosed that the community is mostly assured that the new monarch would live up to expectation, pledging support to the Eze Oha II and prayed God to make him excel in his reign as a king.

In his speech, the Aba South Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Ibe Chijioke,advised the newly coronated Eze to put his trust in God, avoid negative counsel,ensure peace reign in his community and expose whatever that is wrong.

On their parts, the Eze elect of Umunneato Autonomous Community in Isialangwa South Local Government Area, Prince Akomas,the traditional ruler of Asanka la Ntu Autonomous Community in Ugwunnagbo LGA, Eze Christopher Nwogu,the Proprietor of Golden Foundation International School, Mr Nicholas Okoye and Chief Agunwa Augustine,congratulated Eze Gad on his coronation and prayed God to shower him with wisdom to make wise decisions for the betterment of the community.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the conferment of chieftaincy titles to the Deputy Leader,Aba South Legislative Council, Hon Okey Ngume, who was confered the ‘Enyioha I of Asa-Eme-Ohazu’, conferment of ‘Omeudo I of Eluohazu’ to Chief Raymond Iroajan,Chief Innocent Oko also was conferred with the ‘Mmiri Mara Ugo-Okoh I of Asa-Eme’, among other sons who have contributed immensely to the development of the community.
