Justin Kluivert scored a hat-trick as Bournemouth burn down Newcastle United 4-1 at the St James’ Park to extend their unbeaten run to 10 matches and bring Newcastle’s nine-match winning run to an end.
Kluivert put the visitors in front in the sixth minute steering Antoine Semenyo’s cutback into the far corner.
Bruno Guimaraes brought the home fans back to life with the equalizer. But, Kluivert restored Cherries lead with one minute before the break.
After the break, Bournemouth kept matching their opponents toe-to-toe and thought they have extended their lead when Dango Ouattara found the back of the net, but VAR ruled out the goal and awarded a corner kick instead.
Kluivert completed his hat-trick with a powerful shot outside the penalty box to give the visitors a two-goal cushion.
Milos Kerkez put the icing on the cake with the fourth goal. Bournemouth have leapfrogged Manchester City on sixth place on the league table, while Newcastle remained fourth.
