Find Strength In God: Otti Consoles BCA Correspondent, Ahuchogu At Wife’s Burial

 

The remains of Mrs Onyinyechi Patricia Ugochukwu, (nee Nwogu) have been laid to rest at her husband’s compound in Umugba Avor Ntigha, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State.

 

Aged 38, the late Mrs Ugochukwu, is survived by her husband, Comrade Ugochukwu Ahuchogu, a Government House correspondent with the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia (BCA) and other relatives.

Speaking at the funeral service on Friday, Governor Alex Otti urged the bereaved family to remain steadfast in their faith in God.

 

Governor Otti, who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, acknowledged the pain of losing a loved one but urged the family to draw strength from God as they navigate the difficult period.

The Governor reminded the family that God remained sovereign in every situation and encouraged them not to lose hope in the face of their grief.

 

He noted that the worth of a person’s life should not be measured only by the number of years spent on earth but also by the impact made and the memories left behind.

Governor Ottii expressed confidence that the family would find comfort in their faith, assuring them that God would not abandon them in their moment of sorrow.

He prayed for God to grant the family the comfort, courage and inner strength needed to bear the irreparable loss.

In his sermon, titled “Death: A Great Mystery of God Upon Humanity”, the Pastor in charge of Faith Clinic Intercessory Ministry, Pastor Chibuike Nwogu, described death as an inevitable part of human existence.

 

Pastor Nwogu urged people to reflect on the purpose of life and the legacies they hoped to leave behind.

The clergyman who took his text from Ecclesiastes 9:5, reminded the congregation of the transient nature of earthly life, stressing that death was a reality no human being could escape.

 

He challenged Christians to examine their conduct, relationships and contributions to society and urged them to live lives worthy of emulation.

The cleric also admonished the bereaved family and other mourners not to grieve like those without hope, but to draw consolation from their faith in God.

 

While acknowledging the emotional pain associated with losing a loved one, Pastor Nwogu urged Christians to remain prayerful, live righteously and make meaningful use of their time on earth.

He further cautioned against placing absolute confidence in human beings, noting that people could disappoint, while a strong relationship with God offered hope and reassurance during difficult times.

The burial ceremony which featured tribute by family and friends attracted the presence of many dignitaries, including the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy Mr Matthew Ekwuruibe, Director -In Charge, Government House Umuahia, Mrs. Onyedikachi Ogwo, acting Director General of the BCA, Comrade Francis Nwaubani, the leadership of the NUJ, Abia state Chapter, led by Comrade Chidi Asonye among other dignitaries.
