A group has endorsed the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area (LGA), Rivers State, Amb. Ihunwo Chijioke for October 5, 2024 council elections.
The Convener, Simplified Non Indigene Media Influencers, Rivers State, Hon. Mrs. Cencia Precious Peters who disclosed this during a rally/briefing in Port-Harcourt today, maintained that the Council boss has performed creditably within the few weeks in office and deserved to be elected into office as the Executive Chairman to continue to drive some of his people-oriented grassroots goals.
She extolled his exceptional leadership prowess, adding that the council boss has transformed Obio-Akpor; bringing unprecedented dividends of democracy to both indigenes and non-indigenes alike, hence, the endorsement.
She identified some of his achievements to include: empowerment of numerous indigenes and non-indigenes in the media with appointments, cars, and cash, payment of bursaries and provisions of many job opportunities for the youths and teeming unemployed.
Others include; reuniting of the people of Obio-Akpor, as well as fostering harmony among indigenes and non-indigenes.

“Revitalized businesses through empowerment and support, creating a thriving economy”.
The group urged His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to consider their plea and persuade Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo to run as the Executive Chairman of Obio-Akpor, insisting that his proven track record and dedication to the people make him the ideal candidate for the position.
The group further pledged their unalloyed loyalty to Gov Fubara’s administration, adding that they would continue to support Gov Fubara in his bid to provide democracy dividends to the people of Rivers State.
