Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has hailed the leadership and developmental strides of his Enugu State counterpart, Dr Peter Mbah, following the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Law degree on him by his alma mater, the University of East London, United Kingdom.
The University conferred the degree, on Mbah in recognition of his contributions to governance and public service.
Governor Otti in a congratulatory message, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Mbah’s leadership and commitment to the development of Enugu State.
“Your Excellency, this honour from the University of East London is a testament to the impact of your administration in Enugu State”, the Abia Governor stated.
He noted that the university had specifically commended Mbah’s investment in education and his philosophy that “education is fundamentally the cornerstone of human progress, the bedrock upon which the future stands”.
According to Governor Otti, the recognition is also a reflection of the confidence reposed in Mbah and the progress being recorded in Enugu State under his leadership.
“As leaders in the South East, we share a common vision to rebuild our region and make it a hub of commerce, industry and innovation in Nigeria. Your commitment to good governance is encouraging”, he said.
The Abia Governor, expressed hope that the honorary doctorate would further inspire his Enugu state counterpart to greater service to his State and the nation.
Governor Otti wished Mbah continued wisdom, strength and success in the discharge of his responsibilities as governor.
