Mourn not, uphold the sterling qualities of Late Ezeaja Nkporo, Gov. Otti tasks community

The remains of Ezeaja of Nkporo, Eze Dr Patrick Ogbuagu have been laid to rest in his country home, Elughu Nkporo Community in Ohafia LGA.

Speaking during the funeral service conducted in his honour by the Assemblies of God Church and the Glory Christian Ministries, Lagos held at the Elughu Nkporo Community Primary School field in Ohafia LGA, the Governor, Dr Alex Otti described Eze Ogbuagu as a great leader, Elder statesman and consumate family man who will always be remembered for his passion for God, humanity and strength of character.

Dr Otti represented by his Deputy, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu noted that, though death is an inevitable end that awaits all mortal, the Ezeaja’s demise.is a great loss not only to the entire Ogbuagu dynasty, the Nkporo Ancient Kingdom and State at large as the huge vacuum he left will be difficult to fill.

The Governor urged the bereaved family and the people of Nkporo not to mourn like those without hope, but to take solace by the fact that he lived an exemplary life of reverence to God, while enjoining them to uphold his sterling qualities and prayed for eternal repose of his soul.

In a biography, the son of the deceased, Prince Samuel Ogbuagu described their father as a leader that not only ruled his people with the fear of God, but was a man of faith who devoted his life to God by rekindling his zeal for Christ and vision to win souls even as a Traditional Ruler.

Responding on behalf of the family, the Chairman, burial committee, Chief Kalu Ndukwe lamented that the death of their revered Traditional Ruler remain a painful experience they are finding hard to accept and appreciated the State Goveement and everyone for coming to identify with them.

Aged 72, late Eze Dr Patrick Ogbuagu is survived by his wife Ugoeze Joy, children and many relatives.
