Abia Steps Up Preparations for Made-in-Aba Product Expo 2026

Preparations for the 2026 Made-in-Nigeria, Made-in-Aba Product Expo have moved into full implementation, with the Abia State Government restating its commitment to promoting the state’s manufacturing, industrial and business potential.

The five-day Expo will take place from September 22 to 26, 2026, at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia. It is being organised by the Abia State Government in partnership with the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Project Office.

The event has the theme, “Showcasing South-East Enterprise, Driving Investment and Accelerating Made-in-Nigeria.”

The Commissioner for Industry and SMEs, Mazi Michael Enyinnaya Akpara, said the Expo would bring manufacturers, entrepreneurs, investors, buyers and other business stakeholders together to create new partnerships, access markets and explore business opportunities.

He said the event would feature product exhibitions, an Investment and Business Forum, business-to-business meetings, MSME clinics, as well as cultural and food showcases. Exhibitors are expected from Abia State, the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Akpara also announced that the Abia State Product Expo 2026 Planning and Implementation Committee has been inaugurated and is already working. He added that registration is open to manufacturers, entrepreneurs and artisans from Abia and other parts of the South-East.

The Commissioner urged manufacturers, artisans, entrepreneurs, investors, financial institutions, development partners and international buyers to take part in the Expo and benefit from the opportunities it will create.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Okey Kanu, assured the organisers that his Ministry would use its publicity platforms to give the Expo wide publicity.

Kanu said the Ministry would ensure that the message about the Expo “reaches the ends of the earth” to attract participants, investors and buyers and create more opportunities for businesses in Abia.

The Expo is expected to improve the visibility and market access of local businesses while promoting Made-in-Aba as a symbol of originality, creativity, quality, skill and Nigerian enterprise.
