Security operatives have arrested, Mr. Chidozie Humble, 21 years, a 300-level student, Department of Animal Breeding and Physiology, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), over unlawful possession of firearms.
The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Serious Crime Investigation Squad (SCISSORS), Abia State Command and he was
apprehended in his room at Royal Heritage Lodge, Umudike, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State recently.
The exhibits recovered include: three locally made pistols, one English Czech scorpion pistol among others.
Meanwhile, the Police Abia State Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the reduction of crime and criminality to its barest minimum In the state.
The command source further noted that the suspect is under going interrogation in order to apprehend his accomplices.
Reacting, the university Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ubadire Agua, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation is ongoing, with the management working closely the Police to determine the circumstances surrounding Humble’s arrest.
