LP, PDP Members Meet, As Hon Erondu Offers Thanksgiving To God

 

It was sort of a reunion, as  members of  Labour Party in Abia, as well as the PDP family converged to celebrate with the family of Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu, who gave thanks to God for a successful inauguration as a Member of the 8th Abia Assembly.

The occasion which cut across party lines, had the presence of Honourable members from the Labour Party(LP) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), members of various political parties, business associates, traditional rulers, the women and youths, coming together to felicitate with a jolly good fellow and a worthy son of Obingwa Local Government Area.

The thanksgiving service which took place at the United Evangelical Church(UEC), Umuaro, Obingwa, featured special prayer session for the newly inaugurated Lawmaker of Obingwa West State constituency and his family.

In his Speech, Elder Erondu thanked God for sparing his life all through the period of eight years he served as the Special Assistant on Special Duties to the former Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. He said many aides to the ex governor lost their jobs but God kept him afloat, adding that he didn’t die or get involved in any form of accident all through the period of eight years.


The Abia state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Rt Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere, in his remarks, congratulated Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu for his new level, praying God to help him progress in his political career.

Interacting with Newsmen Shortly after the service, the celebrant, Elder Erondu, said the people of Obingwa West state constituency, would experience the dividend of democracy, stating that he is out to serve them.

According to him, he has lived all his life, serving humanity, pointing out that he would not relent in giving his best as the 8th Lawmaker to represent the Uhie constituency.

He said he would be sponsoring bills that are people centric and most especially, making laws that would enhance the wellbeing of Abians and as well, the development of the state.

While expressing gratitude to God, Hon Erondu said he would continue to serve God and humanity.

Interacting with some guests at the Reception ceremony, the Lawmaker representing Isuikwuato state constituency, Hon Lucky Johnson, wished his colleague, Erondu, a successful stay in the House, praying God to grant everyone of them grace to deliver on their mandate.

Relaying what he has in store for the people of Isuikwuato, Hon Johnson, said he has been improving the livelihood of his constituents for the past 15 years, giving scholarship to students, empowerment to the youth and women, among others, stating that his constituents should expect more as he represents them at the state House.

The Labour Party member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon Isieyi Boniface, said he came to celebrate with a colleague.

According to him, the Assembly does not recognize party differences, as every Lawmaker is seen as a partner, making laws to move the state forward.

He said they are all thankful to God for bringing their victory to bare,as none of them won by their strength.

A business guru, Hon Jackson Eke, popularly called Arusi-ego, poured  encomuims on the Obingwa West Lawmaker, whom he described as a good listener and one who does not joke with the needs of the people.

He said Hon Erondu would always give advice and direction to his subordinates so that they could succeed, assuring that the people of Obingwa West would experience great dividends with Erondu as their Lawmaker, urging him not to back pedal, but continue in the rising tempo,so as to deliver on his mandate.

Guests were treated to sumptuous meals with expensive drinks to match, while musical lords entertained guest with good music.


Some guests sighted at the event were, the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Chief Okey Ahaiwe, the immediate past Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief John Okiyi Kalu,  the immediate past Rector of Abia state Polytechnic, Associate Prof Hagler Okorie, the member representing Obingwa East state constituency, Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Godwin Adiele of Ukwa West state Constituency, the Member representing Isialangwa South State Constituency, Hon Rowland Ceaser and his Isialangwa North counter part, Hon Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu (Ochake), the Labour Party member representing Umuahia Central, Hon Anthony Chinasa (Abiola) the PDP candidate for Umuahia Central state constituency, Pst Steve Ugochukwu, PDP SWC member,  Hon Gabriel Okereke Elendu, friends and numerous well wishers, witnessed the occasion.
