Honouring the Youths of our Nation: Mrs. Otti calls for positive engagements

The wife of Abia state Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has call on the youths of the nation to rediscover themselves and channel their talents purposely for the progress of the nation.

Mrs. Otti made the call as part of the activities  marking the one-year anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu leadership in the country and commended the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for hosting the event “Honouring the Youth of Our Nation” at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Asokoro, Abuja.

The Governor’s wife represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Emetu described Nigeria youths as the strength of the nation and call for programmes that will help the youths discover their talents for greater good of the country.

Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu 

Addressing  youths in the  event themed “Becoming: pathway to success” Senator Oluremi Tinubu explained the crucial role of education and skills, stressing the importance of purpose, passion, determination, and resilience in achieving success.

She also highlighted the achievements of remarkable youths, such as Tunde Onakoya, a chess master who set a Guinness World Record, Princess Oluchukwu Owowoh, the first Nigerian woman commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in UK, Hauwa Shakir, a lawyer and CEO of Kulu Abuja, known for her innovative fashion designs and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, the founding partner of Future Africa, who has transformed the African innovation and investment landscape.

The Nigeria First Lady expressed that her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) aims to complement President Tinubu’s efforts in education, agriculture, social investment, and economic empowerment.

She also reminded the youth of the ongoing ONE NIGERIA/Unity Fabric competition, which offers a N25 million star prize, and encouraged participation from Nigerians aged 15-25 years.

In her welcome adress the Minister of Youth, Dr. Jamila Bio-Ibrahim, praised Senator Oluremi for her commitment to youth empowerment and noted the significant contributions of Nigerian youths across various sectors and assured continued support from the Tinubu administration.

Cross Section of Nigeria Youths at the Event 

The youths from Abia state who participated in the event were Tochukwu Clinton Chukwueke, an inventor, entrepreneur, engineering and development consultant, Christy Ucheibe Onyenaturuchi, a female footballer who ply her trade with SL Benfica of Portugal, and Nworgu Ogechika Esther, a para powerlifting champion who has won medals in Egypt and Dubai.

The event featured solo performances, a question and answer session and a panel discussion, engaging distinguished personalities who were in attendance.
