The Abia State Government has refuted the alleged dismissal of the technical bench of Nigeria’s premier league champions, Enyimba International Football Club, Aba, and urged the general public to disregard the fake story making the rounds.

The government in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by the Chief press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Ukoh stated categorically that the information claiming the technical bench has been sacked is entirely unfounded and should be treated as a baseless rumor.

According to the press statement, Mr. Finidi George, the esteemed manager of Enyimba and a former Nigerian international, remains in his position as the club’s manager, as do all other officers within the club’s management.

It added that neither the state government nor the club’s management has issued any directive regarding the purported sack.

The statement reads in part; “There is no iota of truth in that fable as no directive has been issued in that regard by either the state government or the club’s management.
