Abia Hospitality Business Conference and awards 2024: NCAC boss gives his endorsement as ATPN visits
The Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Mr. Obi Asika, has expressed his willingness to collaborate with business-minded individuals to promote made-in-Nigeria products, and in turn increase business opportunities.
Speaking when he received in audience the Chairman of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), Amb. Onyekachi Atuloma-Loveday, in his offiice, Mr. Asika emphasized that Aba, Abia State, has been identified as a lucrative business environment, dubbed the “Japan of Africa,”
Acknowledging Aba’s exceptional entrepreneurial spirit further, Asika expressed his willingness to support any initiative that showcases Aba to the world.
He noted that arts and culture can enhance economic potential, create employment opportunities for youths, and promote national growth.
Asika, who proudly endorsed the Abia Hospitality Business Conference and Awards 2024, observed that the landmark event was aimed to promote Abia State’s hospitality industry and drive economic growth and thus required maximum publicity and attention.
Lending her voice, the NCAC Deputy Director for Creative Hub, Mrs. Onyeabo, commended the organizers for successfully projecting Abia onto the national map.
Earlier in her speech, Amb. Atuloma-Loveday highlighted the need for attention to the art council and tourism sector, requesting the Director General’s support for the event.
She introduced the theme, “Raising the Bar: Elevating Abia’s Hospitality Industry through Collaboration and Innovation,” and emphasized the conference and awards’ potential to revolutionize the hospitality industry, foster economic growth, and promote Abia State as a prime cultural and tourist destination.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of an official invitation to the DG NCAC as Special Guest of Honor for the event.
Grace Dorcas Okoro, Secretary of Oladayco Exquisite Concepts and Logistics Ltd, facilitators of Abia Tour, was also present during the visit.
