Taiwo Awoniyi’s Goal Buries West Ham

Nottingham Forest grabbed their first win of this season’s English Premier League with a lone goal victory over West Ham United.

Taiwo Awoniyi scored the only goal of the thrilling encounter when Jesse Linguard’s effort was deflected into his path off West Ham defender, Ben Johnson.

Awoniyi became the first player to score for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League since Chris Bart-Williams scored against Leicester City in May 1999.

West Ham’s best chance of equalizing came in the second half when they were awarded a penalty, but Dean Henderson saved Declan Rice’ spot kick.
