Gov. Otti Commits to Completing Projects, Credits Financial Prudence for Success

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has expressed his gratitude to the people and residents of Abia for their support over the past year and seven months.

 

Speaking at the 2024 Ehi Na Uguru Day, held at Umuehim Community School in Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, Governor Otti thanked the people of his immediate community for their continued support.

 

The Governor promised to complete all ongoing projects in the state, assuring that by the next Ehi Na Uguru Day, all projects currently underway would be finished.

 

He attributed his ability to execute various projects without borrowing from financial institutions to “financial engineering and prudence.”

While appreciating the organizers of Ehi Na Uguru Day and the stakeholders present, Governor Otti extended his wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year to all attendees.

 

In his remarks, the Member Representing Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, praised the Governor for the ongoing projects in the constituency and across the state. He added that if Governor Otti chose not to seek re-election, the people would compel him to run for a second term.

 

Other stakeholders, including Chief Gershun Amuta and Prof. ACB Agbazuere, commended Dr. Otti for his impactful administration. They specifically lauded his efforts to increase the monthly stipends of traditional rulers and provide Christmas packages to residents of Isialangwa South.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Occasion, Dr. Bestman Anyatonwu, and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Chief John Nwosu, highlighted the significance of the annual event, which began five years ago. They recalled Dr. Otti’s role in uniting the community even before becoming Governor and expressed satisfaction with his fulfillment of promises, including the renovation of schools and roads in Nvosi.

 

The event also featured a presentation of the championship trophy to IsialaOzu Football Club, winners of the late Pastor Laz Otti and Rose Otti Cup. Governor Otti also awarded trophies to the runners-up.
