Lawmaker, Hon Obianyi Appeals For Resilience Amidst Hardship

The member representing Ukwa-East State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Hon. Lewis Obianyi, has appealed for resilience in the face of hardship in the country.

Hon. Obianyi who stated this in his country home, Akanu Ndoki, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA) Abia state, when he played host to over 12 groups from his constituency recently, urged them not to despair but put their hope in God.

The Chairman, House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), ABHA, further thanked them for their support, stating that he would not disappoint them.

The lawmaker, who urged them to be peaceful and law-abiding, reiterated his readiness to partner with government and its agencies to attract democracy dividends to his constituents.

Obianyi also informed the groups that 22 youths of Ukwa East State Constituency are currently on his skill acquisition programme, of which two youths from each political ward have been enrolled and would be settled and equipped at the end of the training.

He added that 12 students from different political wards in Ukwa-East has been registered free for the 2023/2024 West African Examination (WAEC) in order to enhance Human Capital Development in the area.

He further mentioned that grading and creation of new roads in the constituency is ongoing at Azumini ward, Ikwuoriator East and Ikwuorieato west wards, while 10 university scholarships for Ukwa-East youths to study marine Engineering, Nautical sciences, Oil and gas Engineering, industrial safety and environmental management, Maritime transport and Business management have been made available for every political ward in the constituency.

Obianyi also revealed his plans to rehabilitate and upgrade Obeaku-Ndoki health centre among others.

Earlier in his remark, the leader of Ukwa progressives, Mr Chibuzor Okoro, said they were in his residence to thank him for the good works he has been doing since assuming office as a legislator.

He congratulated the lawmaker on his victory at the tribunal and Appeal court, stating that his victory is a victory for the good people of Ukwa East State Constituency.

Also speaking, the women traders in politics who honoured the lawmaker with an expensive Akwete fabrics, said that they are satisfied with lawmaker performance in ABHA.

According to their spokesperson, Mrs Eunice Ihuoma Akuata, they pledged to support to the Lawmaker in all his endeavours.

Meanwhile, the convener, Obinwanne group, Mr. Nduwuisi Emuchay who thanked the lawmaker for living up to his responsibilities, congratulated him on his Appeal court victory.

He expressed confidence that more democracy dividends would be attracted through the lawmaker to Ukwa-East State Constituency.

Contributing, the Arewa women thanked Hon. Obianyi for his support towards them, noting that they would always be there to ensure his success.
