Being text of a Press Statement by Dr. ACB Agbazuere this 3rd Day of August, 2018.
Great Abians, in the spirit of camaraderie, equity and greater development of our dear state, Abia, I feel challenged to call on all those so far contesting for the governorship position against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to have a rethink and back down. I think equity and performance are the two pillars for which we should respect this position.
On equity, out of the 3 (three) senatorial zones of Abia State, Aba North served two (2) terms through Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, Abia Central served two (2) terms through Chief T.A. Orji. It is therefore equitable and most appropriate that Abia South should also be allowed to serve their two terms.
Fortunately, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who is from Abia South Senatorial Zone has served only one term and given his performance index rating, he deserves a second term in office.
Anyone therefore who is contesting for the governorship position of Abia State and is not from Abia South Senatorial zone is being most unfair to equity, his conscience and the people of Abia State.
I know those involved are noble men and women and I urge them to take this advice seriously and wait for their turn. Above all Governor Okezie Ikpeazu will win again come 2019 and it is worthless wasting resources.
A governor who was sworn in on Friday 29th May, 2015 and on Monday June 1, 2015 as his first official assignment flagged off seven road projects at Aba and on Tuesday 2nd June, 2015 also flagged off road projects at Umuahia, and has continued to build roads till today, deserve commendation.
Over 70 roads have been constructed with drainage systems and street lights by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu so far and many more are ongoing.

Made in Aba and Abia products have now been accepted nationally and internationally. All these and many more are courtesy of the ingenuity and commitment of Governor Ikpeazu to better the lots of his people.
Just last night at Abuja, in appreciation of the exploits of governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the federal government of Nigeria honoured Abia State government as the most-friendly Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSME) State in Nigeria.
This genius thus deserves a second term to continue his good works. I therefore, urge all the affected people to heed to this clarion call and save their resources and sustain our unity.
