The Gubernatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne, has commended the Women of Umuosu Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA for their continuous commitment to the development of Umuosu Nsulu.
Professor Uche Ikonne gave this commendation during the 2022 Annual August meeting Conference of Umuosu Nsulu Women Association, held at the Umuata, Umuosu Civic hall.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate, represented by his running mate, Hon. Barr. Okey Philip Igwe, noted with pride, the uncommon roles women play in their respective families, communities as well as their enormous sacrifices for the good of the society, with an assurance that his administration if elected, will pay premium attention to the enhancement of the youths and women in the state.
He called on other women groups to emulate the uncommon traits of the women of Umuosu towards augmenting the efforts of government in the development of their Area.
Professor Ikonne also enjoined them to key into the 5/5 mantra of the PDP, by campaigning and voting for all its candidates in the forthcoming general election.
While pledging to keep supporting the women, Professor Ikonne gave them some financial assistance to enable them complete the Umuosu Nsulu civic Hall initiated by the Women Association.
The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. C.O Enweremadu, Former Member Representing the good people of Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike, the PDP House of Assembly candidate for Isiala Ngwa North, Hon Collins Iheonunekwu, the Director General & Members of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign organisation, among other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
