Chief of Air Staff Praises NDDC for Boosting Infrastructure in Niger Delta

The Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has praised the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for supporting the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies in the Niger Delta region.

During a courtesy visit to the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, Air Marshal Aneke thanked the commission for several projects it has provided for the Air Force.

He mentioned projects such as solar street lights, 713 solar inverters, and a multi-purpose facility donated to the Air Force in Bayelsa State.

Aneke said the main goal of the NDDC is to promote social and economic development in the Niger Delta. He added that this goal supports the mission of the Nigerian Air Force, which is to provide a safe and secure environment for national growth and development.

He also noted that the learning centre provided by the commission will create opportunities for Nigerians, foreigners, and staff of the commission who want to gain more knowledge and skills.

In his response, the Managing Director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, promised that the commission would continue to work closely with security agencies.

He said there can be no development without peace.

Ogbuku also highlighted some of the commission’s programmes, including Operation Light Up the Niger Delta, which he said has helped reduce militancy in the region and improve business activities.

During the visit, Air Marshal Aneke also asked the NDDC to help renovate Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) centres and provide accommodation for Air Force personnel in major cities.

Ogbuku assured him that the partnership between the NDDC and the Nigerian Air Force will continue.
