2023: Bishop Onuoha emerges ADC guber candidate in Abia

The founder and president of Vision Africa and a Methodist Church Cleric, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate under African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Bishop Onuoha who was recently declared the winner by the Returning Officer, Nkem Ukandu at Kolping Society Umuahia, after having pulled a total number of 330 votes, defeating Mr Ebitu Ukiwe Otisi, who pulled a total number of 160 votes.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked the delegates for seeing him worthy to impact positive changes under ADC.

He stated that he embarked on this mission to transform the state, adding that his clinching of the party ticket states clearly that Abians have said that they want a man of integrity.

The cleric, further, expressed optimism that he has the full knowledge of the challenges of the state and is ready to tackle them if elected.

The ADC guber flagbearer had earlier in his manifesto, outlined his 11 points agenda which include
agriculture and rural development, participatory governance, education for sustainable development, accessible basic health for all, trade and commerce, and faith community for development.

He mentioned others to include; security and social welfare, digital economy and information technology transformation, transparency and accountability, international relations/development agencies as well as job creation/youth and women empowerment, adding that he will surely implement with a firm conviction, if given the mandate in 2023.
