The Chairman, Ukwa East Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Chuks Wabara has inaugurated the first female Education Secretary to the Local Government Council, Mrs Precious Ngozi Abia.
The chairman while Inagurating the new Education Secretary, charged her to approach her jobs with positive mindset in order to achieve her mandate.
The Chairman, who noted that her appointment was a recognition of her capacity, capabilities and contributions over the years to the development of the sector, tasked her to deploy every strategy to ensure prompt discharge of her duty in Local Government.
Meanwhile, the outgone Education Secretary has urged the new Education Secretary to collaborate effectively and work with her team towards education development in the State Basic Education.
He expressed confidence that Mrs Precious Abia, being a classroom teacher makes her the best hand for the job.
In her remark, the new Education Secretary, Mrs. Abia, appreciated the Executive chairman of Ukwa East as well as Governor Okezie ikpezu for counting her worthy of the appointment despite the arrays of people in the state.
She also appreciated the outgone Education Secretary for his immense contributions to the development of education and promised to do better during her time in office.
