UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAY-OFF: Real Madrid Crush Manchester City

Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick as Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 3-1 in the second leg of their Champions League play-off. The 15-time champion therefore eliminated the English champions with a 6-3 aggregate score as the first leg had ended 3-2 in favour of the Spaniards.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City scored their only goal of tonight’s encounter in the extra-time when Nico Gonzalez scored his first goal for the club when he turned in Omar Marmoush’s free-kick which hit the bar.

The 2023 champions can now concentrate on the FA Cup, where they have a reasonable chance of emerging champions and the league where their target will be to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

In other fixtures, PSG followed their 3-0 victory over fellow French side Brest in the first leg to hammer them 7-0 at the Parc des Princes to give the Luis Enrique’s side a comprehensive 10-0 aggregate victory.
