Qatar 2022: Brothers At War As Wales, England Battle for Survival

The Ahmad bin Ali Stadium will be set agog tonight when British brothers, Wales and England battle for a place in the knockout stage of the World Cup.
Wales drew their first match with USA 1-1 and lost their second match 2-0 to Iran leaving them with only one point.
The Three Lions of England hammered Iran 6-2 in their opening match before drawing goalless with USA in their second group match. Therefore, England have four points.
While a draw will see them through, Wales must win to entertain any hope of qualifying.
Downing Street said that Rishi Sunak would be supporting England while also hoping that both teams can advance “as far as possible” in the competition.

The UK Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “Obviously we want both teams to progress as far as possible.

“I think the Prime Minister personally is an England supporter. He’s talked about that before, but certainly we want both teams to progress as far as possible.”
In the group’s other match which will be played simultaneously, political enemies USA and Iran will take their battle to the pitch as they vie for a knockout stage ticket.
In France 98, Iran defeated USA 2-1 but both sides crashed out of the World Cup.
Iran have three points while the USA have two points, a win is what both sides will be fighting for.
