Political stakeholders in Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) have commended the Chairman, House Committee on Public Service, Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, for his outstanding leadership and commitment to providing democracy dividends to his constituents.
They described the member representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, as a passionate leader, a worthy son of Ngwa land, maintaining that they did not regret electing him into office in 2023.
Speaking at a stakeholders meeting at Ohanze, Obingwa LGA Abia state, the former Deputy General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Chief Rowland Nwakanma, disclosed that the lawmaker has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the state, describing him as a worthy ambassador of his people.
He said: “It can only take a leader with a genuine love and a kind heart to invest on his people, especially in these hard times.”
He thanked him for justifying the confidence reposed in him through the ballots, maintaining that they would always support him.
Contributing, a former Deputy Chairman, Obingwa LGA, Hon. Chief Ezinwa Abiri, applauded the Uhie-born legislator for touching the lives his constituents in education, agriculture, capacity building, among others even before being elected in Abia State House of Assembly in 2023.
In his remark, an elder statesman, Chief Isaac Ogbonna, also commended Erondu Jnr for remembering the young and the aged in his empowerment programmes, adding that he is pleased with his dynamic style of leadership.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Obingwa LGA chapter, Hon. Ahamefula Egbulefu, has lauded the Abia lawmaker, Erondu Jnr for keeping to his campaign promises, describing him as a rare gem who understands the needs of his people.
Egbulefu also thanked him for the newly established party offices across the constituency, insisting that PDP remains the only party in Obingwa with the interest of everyone.
Contributing, the Director-General, Igodo Igwe campaign council, Hon. Chidiebere Ihenyirimadu, thanked Erondu Jnr for performing creditably in the past 19 months in office, stating that they did not regret voting him in 2023.
In their separate remarks, the PDP woman leader, Obingwa LGA, Mrs. Ijeoma Ngozi, the Obingwa LGA Organizing Secretary, Hon. Uchemadu Nwamuo and the National Coordinator, IGODO IGWE Foundation, Hon. Prince Ezenwoke Ukpom, thanked the lawmaker for identifying with his constituents, especially the indigent ones in this economic hard times, praying God to continue to bless and preserve him and his family.
Earlier in his remark, Erondu Jnr thanked Obingwa stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, urging his constituents to remain steadfast in supporting PDP.
Erondu Jnr who decried the deplorable state of rural roads in Obingwa, promised to flag off rural roads grading in the area to alleviate the suffering of his people and enhance socio-economic activities and development at the grassroots.
The erstwhile Director, Enyimba FC noted that their party remain the only party at the grassroots with the interest of the women, youths and the men as well.
The lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State constituency further congratulated those who emerged in the recently held party congress, urging them to show selfless commitment towards rebuilding the party.
He further implored party members who are not happy with the party’s congress to sheath their swords, support the party, maintaining that PDP would cruise to victory in come 2027.
He thanked them for their support, insisting that he would continue to make use of every opportunity at his disposal to attract democracy dividends to his people.
The lawmaker had also distributed Christmas and new year packages to his constituents, people in Obingwa and Abia State to cushion the negative effects of the prevailing hardship in Nigeria.
