The Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Mr Lukeman Ukara has Commended the General Manager Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation Chief Jones Ike for sustaining his Late Mother’s Annual Scholarship Scheme, Richael Ifeoku Ike Female Education Foundation, dedicated to assist female students in Idima Abam in Arochukwu Local Government Area.
Speaking during the 2026 Foundation’s Scholarship Award Ceremony, held at Amogudu Hall in Idima Abam, Mr Ukara said that the Scholarship will go a along way to reducing the burden on parents of the beneficiaries as well as support the education needs of the beneficiaries.
The Special Adviser advised the recipients to live up to expectations, remain good ambassador of the foundation and State under the Visionary leadership of the Governor Dr Alex Otti.
In His Remarks the Founder Unubiko Foundation Chief James Chijioke Ume Represented by the Rector Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnics Aba Prof Christopher Kalu Said that his foundation through the partnership of Richael Ifeoku Female Education Foundation has sponsored and awarded Scholarships to over 600 female students origin of Idima Abam and enjoined the beneficiaries to utilise the opportunity to advance further in their academic pursuit and be useful to themselves, families and society at large.
In his address, the Coordinator of the Scholarship Program who is also the General Manager Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation, Chief Jones Ike said that his Iate mother initiated the Scholarship Foundation to assist parents in Idima Abam who are interested to train their female folks in government higher institutions of learning and commended the beneficiaries for their commitment to further their education in life.
Contributing, the Chairman on the occasion Chief Samuel Kalu and former President General Idima Abam Development Union, Comrade Dike Patrick said Chief Jones Ike’s late mother, Mrs Racheal Ifeoku Ike has written her name in gold through her Female Education Program aimed at promoting education of female folks in the area and advised the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously.
Responding, some of the beneficiaries including Favour Ikechukwu studying at ABSU, her Federal University Otuoke Counterpart Amarachi Udo and Chidera Igwe of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnics Aba described the scholarship scheme as a big relief from their parents and appreciated Chief Jones Ike for his kind gesture to them and prayed God to bless him and Chief James Chijioke Ume.
