Nigeria at 63: Cross River Celebrates with Thankful Activities

As part of the activities to mark 63 years of Independence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Cross River State Government has decided to thank God Almighty for bringing the Nation this far.

The activities which started on Friday with the Muslim ju”mat prayers at the Navy Barracks Mosque, IBB way Calabar will be followed up on Sunday with interdenominational Christian church service at the Presbyterian church of Nigeria, at Hope Waddle parish Calabar.

The Paramilitary Organizations including the Police Force Cross River State Command will be parading at the main bowl of Esueme Stadium on Monday, ushering in the cutting of the 63rd Anniversary cake by Senator Bassey Otu, the Governor of the State.

In a press release, the Commissioner for Information Mr Erasmus Ekpang outlined the activities, while the Governor invites the Deputy Governor, Speaker and Members of the House of Assembly, Chief Judge of the State, Chief of Staff of the State, Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service, Service Commanders, Members of Diplomatic Corps, Permanent Secretaries, Captain of Industries , Leaders of Political Parties , All Political Appointees, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers, Senior Civil servants, Gentlemen of the Press and General Public to come and join celebrate Nigeria.
