Fmr Abia Commissioner, Nwamuo Hails Deputy Speaker Over Wogu’s Appointment

An erstwhile Abia Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Tony Nwamuo Esq has commended the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu for his role in the appointment of Chief Emeka Wogu as the Chairman of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).

The appointment, he said is a significant step towards promoting development in the South East region.

Speaking with our reporter on the development, he described Chief Wogu, a former Minister of Labour and Productivity, as an experience technocrat, adding that he has all it takes to pilot the intervention agency to an enviable height.

The immediate past Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture maintained that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has been instrumental in supporting the passage and signing of the SEDC bill into law.

In his words: “His efforts have been recognized as crucial in establishing the commission, which aims to address infrastructural deficits and promote economic growth in the region.”

The appointment of Wogu and others to the SEDC, the legal luminary maintained is a welcomed development for the South-East region owing to his antecedents and profile.

“It is expected that the commission will work towards addressing the region’s specific needs and promoting sustainable development”, he further stated.
